Layton Construction BIM Coordination
Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Steel Detailing Trades
Layton is committed to deploying BIM enabled activities in an effective manner. The primary and core BIM enabled service is coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection services (MEPF) within the architectural and structural spaces.
BIM coordination may not make sense on every project. However, if it has been decided to include BIM coordination in the scope of your project, a project specific BIM execution plan will be created, based on the general template available for download to the right. It will provide a sense of the modeling scope required of MEPF and steel detailing trades and discusses the tools and processes used.
The BIM coordination team will meet to review this document and customize it to the specific project, modifying the scope to what makes the most sense for an effective project and to meet the owners’ requirements. The BEP template available for download here represents some of the stricter BOIM coordination requirements – these will be modified specific to the project.
We strive for simplicity and effectiveness with this process. BIM coordination assists the entire team to plan, fabricate, deliver and place work more efficiently, minimizing material waste and saving time along the way, delivering the best project possible in the end.
If your company doesn’t yet have an in-house BIM staff, that need not prevent you from bidding on and winning a project. We can walk you through the process and connect you with local and national companies that can provide modeling and coordination services – make sure you have that line item included in your bid. Please contact us with any questions.
The BIM coordination works best when all the players are engaged – we look forward a smooth, productive and effective process.
